SpecDD Terminology
SpecDD uses the following terminologies:
SpecDD Sprint: Sprint is the term used to represent development iteration; it can be two weeks or one month. Such duration can be fixed or modified based on the project needs. Often a calendar month is recommended as an initial sprint length.
SpecDD Sprint planning meeting: The sprint planning meeting is the venue for the product managers to pick and assign work to their teams for the duration of the sprint.
SpecDD Daily Development Briefing: A daily meeting between team leads and team members to discuss the previous day’s progress and raise any questions about the current day’s work.
SpecDD Daily QA Briefing: A daily meeting between QA leads and the QA team to review the previous day’s test results and the current day’s test plan.
SpecDD Sprint review meeting: A review of the work performed during the sprint where the development leads demonstrate the working software.
SpecDD Project Managers: Managers who are responsible for maintaining the time and resource commitments for the project. They oversee the entire project and escalate any issues with executive management.
SpecDD Coach: An expert on SpecDD who can suggest improvements to the teams and the processes they use.
SpecDD Trainers: SpecDD trainers are responsible for training teams on SpecDD and providing consulting services to companies wishing to utilize SpecDD.
SpecDD Master Trainers: A master trainer represents an individual who has a high degree of knowledge and experience in SpecDD. Master trainers must spend at least 2 years as a SpecDD trainer and must also work as SpecDD coaches to several teams.
SpecDD Product Manager: Product managers are responsible for communicating the stakeholder’s needs and accurately describing them. They must also create and review specifications to make sure the stakeholder’s needs are represented.
SpecDD Product Experts: Product experts are similar to product managers. For complex products, they are in charge of a certain area of the product.
SpecDD Dev Team Lead: A senior developer or manager who oversees their team. They are responsible for communicate the concepts within the specifications to the development team and presenting the working software and how it implements those concepts.
SpecDD Dev Team: The team who is responsible for the completion of development tasks. Reports to the Dev Team Lead.
SpecDD QA team lead: A manager responsible for a testing team. They must understand the concepts of the specifications and create a test plan based on those concepts.
SpecDD QA Team: The testing team, who is responsible for the completion of testing tasks. Report to the QA team lead.
